The Pastorate Committee
The Pastorate Committee is the apex body constituted for the administration of Church and its affairs. The C.S.I. Church of the Good Shepherd, Mylapore being part of the Church of South India, Madras Diocese has a Pastorate Committee for the administration of the Church and its activities. The Presbyter-in-Charge is the Chairman of the Pastorate Committee. The Members of the Pastorate Committee are elected/nominated for a Triennium period. The Headmistress of the St. Ebba’s Girls Higher Secondary School is an Ex-Officio Member of the Pastorate Committee of our Church. Pastorate Arbitration Board
| The Pastorate Arbitration Board is constituted as per the constitution of the Diocese of Madras for the purpose of seeking redressal of greivances over any matter concerning the day to day administration of the Church or any dispute with the other members concerning the Church and Pastorate or in relation to the administration of the Church or its properties. For this purpose a Pastorate Arbitration Board are being regularly constituted whenever each Pastorate Committee are formed. The members of the Pastorate Arbitration Board are being nominated by the Pastorate Committee and meet whenever required. The various members who have served in the Pastorate Arbitration Board members have done yeoman service during their respective tenure. Building Committee
| Good Shepherd Church has done various constructions and development works both in the Church campus and also outside wherein it has sponsored and constructed many Village Churches apart from other works. For this purpose the Building Committee has been regularly constituted whenever each Pastorate Committee are formed. The members of the Building Committee are being nominated by the Pastorate Committee. The meeting of the Building Committee are regularly held and decisions are taken and recommended to the Pastorate Committee for it to take a final decision. Though the recommendations of the Building Committee are advisory in nature, its recommendations are mostly accepted by the Pastorate Committee and are being implemented. The members regularly visit the construction site wherever it is, supervise the works and see that the works are carried out in a proper manner. Scholarship Committee
| Good Shepherd Church is in the forefront among all the Churches in the Diocese of Madras in helping the poor people to pursue studies and make them feel that the finance is not a hindrance to their academic prospects. For this purpose a Scholarship Committee are being regularly constituted whenever each Pastorate Committee are formed. The members of the Scholarship Committee are being nominated by the Pastorate Committee. The meeting of the Scholarship Committee are generally held during the start of each academic year and the decisions taken in the meeting are recommended to the Pastorate Committee for it to take a final decision. Though the recommendations of the Scholarship Committee are advisory in nature, its recommendations are accepted by the Pastorate Committee and are being implemented. Though the Scholarship is confined only to our Church poor people but in some cases the bonafide request from other Church poor people and others are also being considered. We consider it as an honour to express that in the last four years the Scholarship amounts disbursed in each year has crossed more than a lakh of rupees. Evangelism Committee
| The mandate of the Lord is being followed by the Good Shepherd Church. Many members of the Good Shepherd Church are doing the work of evangelism in their own way and in different places. The Good Shepherd Church has also for this purpose has constituted a Evangelism Committee and nominated members to guide the church to actively involve in the field of evangelism.The Church regularly takes it’s members to some villages and does evangelism work. The present Pastor Rev. B. Devaprasad has made it a point to compulsorily visit villages atleast once in a month and has earmarked the third Sunday of every month for this purpose. The Pastor alongwith Pastorate Committee Members and some dedicated members regularly visit villages and form into little groups and pray, sing, preach in each house and also at all important junctions in the villages.The meeting of the Evangelism Committee are held whenever required and the decisions taken in the meeting are recommended to the Pastorate Committee for it to take a final decision. Though the recommendations of the Evangelism Committee are advisory in nature, its recommendations are mostly accepted by the Pastorate Committee and are being implemented.
